THE
SUNSHINE CHILDREN
CENTRE PROJECT
The pictures you see are just a
glimpse of the 140,000 children who live on the streets of Kiev, Ukraine. You are able to
see some "before" pictures when these children huddled in drainage pipes under
the streets and "after" when these kids were touched by the hand of God through
the Sunshine Children's Centre.
Sunshine Children Centre is a
private institution established to help street children at risk. Since its inception in
March 2002, the Centre has offered hope, a future and loving caring family environment to
children and youths living on the street without parental care.
During their residency at the
Centre, children recover from psychological and physical damage. This is in addition to
preparation and education of life skills necessary for independent life.
In April 2004 it was decided to
purchase a second building adjacent and contiguous to the Centre in order to initiate
phase II of our long-term treatment strategy. When restoration and building modifications
are completed, this building will be used to establish our first foster family unit in
2005. Youth's that have successfully graduated from Sunshine Children Centre and are
rehabilitated will make up the first residence of the foster family unit.
It is our professional opinion
and experience that the best model for child behaviour modification is within the context
of the family. This is precisely why we have chosen to establish our first foster family
unit.
Today we ask and look for your
partnership in this great worthwhile endeavour. Would you please consider being a
financial sponsor in our first foster family unit? The amount of capital required to
complete this project is $66,989.61 dollars. Click on this LINK
